Besides being fun, being in the Engineering & Architecture Technology industry has afforded me the opportunity to be around some pretty cool stuff over the years. Today offered up yet another of those rare gems. A New Zealand team is developing a robotic human jaw!
News of this development makes me even more optimistic about the inevitable reality of getting older. I mean really, think about it... First Jarvik invents the artificial heart so now can all live longer. Then Pfizer invents the little blue pill so we can all continue to have “fun” when we're old. And now, if we're old and want to enjoy a nice treat after having our “fun”, our robotic jaws will allow us to enjoy our Tootsie Rolls without the aid of a blender. Let's face it, you can't put a price tag on that.
It looks like there's only one big issue left to tackle, and most of us will be set. Hooray Technology!
