Over the past several months, products like Google Maps, Google Earth, and Yahoo Maps, have turned the world of mapping upside-down. Today, after much anticipation, Microsoft officially threw their hat in the ring by announcing the release of the beta version of MSN Virtual Earth to the public. May the games begin!

One thing that I found tha I found interesting right off the bat, was that MSNVE has high-res satellite imagery for areas that Google doesn't. Likewise MSNVE is lacking hi-res imagery in many places where Google doesn't.
