Movie Review: Shaun of the Dead (DVD)

After seeing the preview for Shaun of the Dead last year, I immediately wanted to see it in the theater.  Unfortunately that plan fell victim to my chaotic lifestyle.  But upon seeing the DVD in Best Buy the other day made me immediately put The Incredibles back on the shelf -- and I really liked that movie!

The premise for the movie is simple: It's a comedic take on the old Dawn of the Dead-style zombie movies from back in the day.  Two career British slackers are forced to take on an army of flesh-eating zombies that have somehow have begun walking the earth.  Will they be able overcome their own weaknesses long enough to get the job done?

This combination of new generation British comedy and classic subject matter kept me laughing literally from beginning to end.  The DVD's special features offered up many hilarious outtakes along with a really novel feature to fill all of the subtle little “Plot Holes“ in the film.

I can't recommend this film highly enough.

Rotten Tomatoes: 90%
