I got to see this movie with my sister Debbie and her family over the Easter weekend. Hopefully this will become a more regular occurrence.
I wanted to see Guess Who for several reason, but chief among them was that I like the guts of the producers for not only doing a remake of the classic 1967 original, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, but for going an entirely different direction with it, thus avoiding the obvious comparisons to the original and its classic lead actors.
I like Ashton Kutcher the more I see of him away from That 70's Show. He was very much at ease playing the quick-witted future groom to Zoe Saldana (make a note to watch for more from her in the future).
Bernie Mac was the other reason this movie got my attention. I've liked his stand-up stuff for years, and I really enjoy his television show. You get more of the same Bernie in Guess Who.
Despite being uneven at times, I did enjoy this movie. It's makes for a fun ninety minutes. Although I'll likely end up buying the DVD someday, it probably won't be before it ends up on the discount rack.
