Update: I've Gone Too Long Between Blog Entries

I didn't realize how cathartic the blogging experience was until I couldn't do it regularly.  After averaging nearly 30 posts per month for the past few months, I'll be lucky to finish 10 this month.  Time for an update...

The bottom line is that I've been extremely busy since getting back from our annual meeting in Bethesda earlier this month.  It seems as though I never leave my office.  I know I've said it before, but it's gone way beyond getting old.

The roommate situation is still unchanged and progressing pretty smoothly.  The biggest news can be summed up in two words -- “new boyfriend“.  Evidently life has suddenly become worth living.  The only downside if the situation is that with Heaven gone more, that leaves me at home alone ...with a kitten ...a hyperactive kitten ..with sharp claws ...and sharp teeth ...that loves to play “Attack Everything“.

I managed to got in a couple of rare babysitting gigs with my niece Meagan.  As usual a fun time was had by all, at least until someone other than Meagan wins at Chutes and Ladders.

The Packers finally seem to be back on track after a bad stretch of injuries sent them on a four game losing streak.  Gradually getting healthier each week, they're starting to look like the team that finished so strongly last year.  With a bye week following the 'Skins game, they should be in good shape to take on the Vikings in a couple of weeks.  It should be a heck of a game that should be a big indicator of where each team stands.

The baseball playoffs were especially compelling for me this year.  As if the Red Sox' miraculous recovery against the Yankees wasn't enough, they finally got over the hump and closed out their first World Series win in 86 years.  I can't help but think though, that it's too bad the Astros fell short in the NL Championship.  With their pitching, I think it would have been a much more competitive 'Series.

The coolest news on my end is that I leave on Saturday for Washington D.C. to see the Packers play the Redskins [pdf] at FedEx Field on Sunday.  My buddy Bob has season tickets for the 'Skins.  This will mark my first time seeing an NFL game in D.C.  Cool.  Hopefully Favre will again play well through his most recent bad news.  At the very least it'll be a rare opportunity to relax.  Check in for an update next week.

That should do it for now.

Go Pack!
