Movie Review: Without a Paddle

I'll keep this one short...

Following the death of a childhood friend, three young city-slickers decide to fulfill their deceased buddy's dream to find D.B.Cooper's long lost treasure -- that's when the madcap adventures begin.

Without a Paddle certainly had its moments, but unfortunately, it didn't have enough of 'em.  Boasting the star-power of big names like Seth Green and Matthew Lillard, the film seemed to me to be just a bunch of marginally funny scenes strung together in an attempt to form some semblance of a storyline.  But really most of the funniest scenes were included in the previews for the film.  I really hate when that happens.

There were two bright spots for me.  One was newcomer Dax Shepard as the third member of 'The Tripod'.  He had some of the best one-liners.  The second was an unexpected appearance by a nearly unrecognizable Burt Reynolds playing a wacky mountain man.

It wasn't a bad way to spend $10, but it would be far smarter to spend it on the DVD.

Rotten Tomatoes: 15%
