Back in the day, I remember attending the inaugural NAAUG (now known as AUGI) meeting in San Jose. I stood in line for hours waiting for my chance to experience a demonstration of virtual reality. Although it wasn't much by today's standards, the experience convinced me the Virtual Reality (VR) was on the fast track to becoming mainstream.
OK, perhaps I was a bit hasty.
But today, Joe Beda pointed out a new virtual floor technology called CirculaFloor. I'd suggest you watch the video in order to fully appreciate the accomplishment.
As impressive as it is though, it'll take on a whole new degree of impressiveness to me when I can see Barry Sanders strap on a headset and dodge a virtual representation of the 1965 Green Bay Packer defense while running on a future, more responsive version of CirculaFloor...
